Scholarship Committee

   A life filled with a spirit of thanksgiving is a blessing and an opportunity to show gratitude by giving to others. The Reverend Dr. Raymond C. and Linda Caliman Scholarship Award established May 2019 is in recognition of their life-long commitment and contributions to family, church and community. Their journey together began as youth who understood the meaning of Christian values instilled by their parents and active involvement in the church. April 1960 marked their union of marriage and the start of a foundation they built together with love, kindness and respect. Rockland County has been their life long residence where they established a home to raise their children, engaged in meaningful employment in business and social services, completed college, supported several civic organizations, and currently serve as Pastor and First Lady of Fairmount Baptist Church. Leadership, service and youth programs are the hallmarks of their tenure and the building blocks young people can use to fuel their own journey forward. 

   This Scholarship Program will provide an annual award for college bound youth that are active in the community, serve as a role model and positively contribute to their school.

   Kim Caliman Byrd, their daughter and career educator will proudly work and serve to honor the legacy of her mom and dad trusting there is "provision where there is purpose."
